Is this normal for a JBP?

I am new to the whole Bonsai world. Would like to seek opinion whether there is something for me to be worried about.

I noticed the base of the needle is turning light green and with some needles experiencing a bit of discolouration. Is this normal for a JBP?

The needles appear normal in the photograph. If the higher colour extends further out on the needle to create a yellowish look part way up the needle than that would indicate some root issues. Likely overwatering!
Not sure of your location or climate, but the tree appears to be indoors. It is difficult to keep pines healthy indoors.

Thanks Frank, appreciate the input. The JBP is definitely kept outside to get the full sun. Glad to hear it’s normal. Many thanks.
