Japanese Maple Leafs Won’t Fall

Hi Forum Folks. I have a number of Japanese Maples whose leafs have died but are still well connected, unlike other species whose leafs have long fallen off this Autumn. Should I trim them? Pinch them? Leave them? I don’t want to negatively affect ramification. Thx in advance for any help!

Interesting. Typically dead leaves only hold on tightly when branches die back. It’s perfectly safe to remove any dead foliage by pulling the leaves or cutting the petioles.
