Japanese White Pine seed germination

(csatk) #1

Hello,

I purchased about 100 Japanese White Pine seeds from eBay, but unfortunately I could not find clear instructions to get them to germinate. Anyone of you have any details to go about successfully germinating them?

FYI…I live in San Jose, CA.

Thanks for taking a look into this.

Rgds,

I often follow the guidelines from Shumacher:
https://www.treeshrubseeds.com/specieslist?id=312&ID2=-1&k=pinus

And from the Dirr and Heuser guide:
“3 months cold stratification for germination… Sow outdoors in August or early September because this species benefits from a 2 to 3 month warm period.”

Thanks Jonas, I will give it a try.
