Pine needles turning brown

Hello, I have a Japanese black pine and I was thinking of using clonex to shorten it and plant again because the pines are turning brown. After I shorten it im going to plant it in new soil and add fertilizer. Do you guys think i should use the clonex?

The picture shows a seedling that appears very weak. I would not try to do anything to it unless it regains its health. It should be kept outside in the sun with careful monitoring of the watering. If the seedling survives there will be plenty of time to do the root work if desired.
Reducing roots or needles at this time will likely kill the plant.

i see you made it over here from youtube. yeah, i wouldn’t do any root work on it. it looks like it needs some sun and a good period of time to dry in-between waterings.

I leave it in the sun and water it hourly, i dont know, i hope something changes then

you should try watering it only when the soil is starting to get very dry. this might help a lot. the soil you have is staying wet too long and the roots might not like it.
