I was going to suggest making a teeny tiny batch of gin.
The brown stuff looks like some kind of bug pupa, if they’re still occupied you can probably just crack em open. Baby ladybugs sometimes look like that though so I’d leave it alone.
LOL, sorry should have looked closer! The color and shape does not match any form of scale that I have seen. But the position makes me think insect. I would scrape off and observe if only a few! Perhaps someone else has some direct experience.
Looks like scale. I’d peel them off. They might have a hard shell with some white puffs underneath.
