This might be a dumb question but here it is… What is the common name/ cultivar for tsuyama hinoki here in north america?? Or is it the same as they call it in japan?
From what i have been able to research there are five cultivars of Hinoki generally recognized. Tsuyama likley refers to the type found in that area of japan. Marketing strategies seem to identify that area as known for dwarf hinoki suitable for shohin. Hope that helps.
